Sponsorship Copywriting

Dear Organization Owner,

If you would like to attract more supporters or land more sponsors, then this will be the most exciting thing you read all day.

Here’s why…

As a nonprofit or for-profit fundraising dollars and grants can help fund many projects and causes, including providing the resources you need to help the people your organization was created for.

Consider this research data pulled from Better World:

And while many other marketing channels can work, grants and fundraising can contribute significantly to the success or failure of your organization.

And if you don’t know how to persuade companies to believe in your cause and provide financial support, then you’ll be left struggling to find the money you need to help the people (or animals, or environment, or whichever…) your organization was designed to support.

So if you’ve put all your eggs in the “donor” basket…

These alarming stats might scare the pants off you…

This is a hard stat to swallow.

After all you’ve spent a lot of time, money, effort, and energy into creating an organization you believe in that will help change the lives of people or animals.

And unfortunately that number isn’t going to change.

Now listen, maybe you’ve tried SEO, paid advertising, pitched brands, and went to networking events in the hopes of getting more grants, sponsors, and donors.

Maybe they told you they’d support your organization but you never heard back.

Maybe they forgot, or maybe they didn’t fully believe in your cause.

The reason is usually because you weren’t able to strike them in the emotional part of their mind or their heart.

You see…

Many People Believe Charitable Fundraisers Are Scams

You have a big hurdle to overcome when trying to seek fundraising dollars.

But if you can craft up a compelling story, backed by stats and figures, including the people (or animals) that you’ve been able to help…

You’ll increase your chances of landing a sponsor or donor significantly.

Why?

Keep in mind that brands and companies are hit up all the time for sponsorships.

So to make it past the gatekeeper you need to create a convincing and emotional story as to why they should consider sponsoring you or your event.

The first thing you want to do is look at the company’s vision or ethics page.

There you’ll find who the company supports, their vision, their goals, and other relevant information.

Keep in mind that not all companies will align with your organization’s goals or mission therefore they might not be a fit.

But if they are, you’ll want to craft your outreach message so that it aligns your mission with theirs.

One of the biggest things a company looks for, aside from how much you’re asking, is how will their contribution to your organization provide them with a return on investment (ROI).

Whether that’s money or public exposure, they’ll want to see some sort of return.

We live in a day of “what’s in it for me” so you must provide that information in some form to show the company how they will benefit from supporting your cause.
